So I’m celebrating International Woman’s Day by sharing one of my favorite pictures and sending you to the website.
Welcome to the new age where the People have the Power. PLEASE, watch this video. You will care, you will want to do something and in this new age you can. Go to the site, sign the petition, tweet the culture and policy makers, join us on April 20th!
You may not have been a part of this and if that’s the case, a little information will be a good thing.
Make sure you’re where you won’t be embarrassed when you start laughing so loud
Last Thursday I put on some nice clothes, got into my car and drove myself to an Open Mic I’d heard of at Pleasant Valley Brewing. It felt like it was time to just put myself out there, stir things up. I didn’t let the fact that I had no accompaniment stop me or that it was just me, a lone black woman, in a small New England town bar deter me.
Glad to report that much fun was had. Everyone was amazingly welcoming and I had a great time. Heading back there this Thursday!
Back in March I was invited by the Jacksonville Blues Band to sing a few songs with them during a performance at The Mole Hill Theatre. I finally got a few moments to export a video of one of the songs from that night. Hope you enjoy it!
Usually I try to post something for your ears but this piece of wonder is for your eyes and heart..
